After Ayushmann, Anurag Kashyap asks producers to premiere Amitabh’s stagnant film Bachchan Shoebite – bollywood

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has tweeted about the release of the delayed Shoojit Sircar movie Shoebite on OTT platforms. The film, starring Amitabh Bachchan at the helm, has stalled since 2010.

“I just thought about this great movie that they showed me on the @ ShoojitSircar” SHOEBITE “editing machine. At times like these @RonnieScrewvala @SrBachchan, they all can’t work together to release it somewhere online … Please”, wrote in a tweet.

Earlier last month, Ayushmann Khurrana had made a similar appeal. “I have seen that movie twice by the way in the edition and it is his best movie to date. If launched, it will be India’s entry to the Oscars or something. It is so beautiful. I think someone should request it and release it right now. This is the moment, ”he said in an interview with Film Companion. BTW, I’ve seen him twice before Vicky Donor. Once alone and once with Tahira. I was so inspired and happy, “he said.

The film has been caught in a copyright battle between two studios for years. Even Amitabh has made repeated requests over the years to release the film. “Please, please … it’s a great story,” he tweeted last year.

The script for the movie is based on an idea from Hollywood director M Night Shyamalan, who was making the same movie with a Hollywood studio. “The American studio had given us the green signal, so we made the movie. So far, they have failed, so they have to figure it out, “Shoojit had told the Hindustan Times earlier.

“I feel it is an insult and a disdain for creative people. You cannot disrespect an artist like Mr. Bachchan, who worked for two years on the film. Nothing has happened so far,” he added.
