Popular singer Guru Randhawa was one of 34 celebrities arrested and later released on bail by Mumbai police for disobeying COVID-19 prevention rules in a Mumbai club. His team issued a statement Tuesday saying the singer deeply regrets the unintended incident.
“Guru Randhawa, who had gone out to dinner with close friends before returning to Delhi that same morning, deeply regrets the unintentional incident that occurred last night. Unfortunately, he was not aware of the local authorities’ decision on the night curfew, but he instantly complied with all the rules set by government officials, “read a statement issued on behalf of the singer by his management team.

“He promises to comply with the government’s guidelines and protocols by taking all precautionary measures in the future. By far, he has been a law-abiding citizen and will continue to do so in the future,” the statement added.
Early Tuesday, the Mumbai police tweeted: “Party (Nahin) Chalegi until 6am (the party won’t last until 6am)! A raid was carried out on a nightclub in Andheri around 3 am, for disobeying COVID prevention regulations. Actions have been taken against 34 people, of whom 19 were from Delhi and Punjab, including some #NewNormal celebrities. “
Meanwhile, the Punjabi singer has posted a photo on Twitter.
“Jiske ser uper tu swami so dukh kaisa paave. I visited Bangla Sahib Gurdwara today. My Guru Nanak Dev ji is with me now and forever,” he captioned the image taken at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib.
