After ‘monoliths’ were seen in places around the world, the first metal sculpture of its kind in India was reported in a park in Ahmedabad.
The structure can be seen in the Symphony Forest Park in Thaltej, surrounded by various urban development projects. The monolith resembles others that have been found in places around the world, with shiny metal sheets forming the three-sided structure.
However, the Ahmedabad monolith provides some clues as to what it may represent.
One of the sides has some numbers etched into it, something only a crafty viewer will notice. These numbers, listed below, offer some clue to affinity for nature and wildlife protection. However, what exactly these numbers represent, only time will reveal.
When the structure began to create some buzz among local residents on the internet, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s deputy director of parks and gardens, Dilipbhai Patel, said he was aware of the monolith in the park. He said it was created by the private company that developed and maintained the park.
Completed almost three months ago, the park is located in one of the city’s upscale areas along Sindhu Bhawan Road. It was virtually inaugurated by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani along with several other projects earlier this month.
“It has been granted in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP) for a period of five years in a deposit,” Patel said. Indian Express.
While the artist behind the installation wished to remain anonymous, she spoke with Indian express on why the project came to him. He said that the beauty of such sculptures evokes a conversation.
Saying that artworks like these invite people to have conversations about the meaning of things, he said: “It allows them to have a deeper understanding of life and that is the essence of sculpture.
“The monolith is shrouded in mystery around the world because people enjoy the mystery of unlocking new ideas and unlocking new thoughts. And this was my contribution to that: engaging thought, ”said the artist.
Shining metal structures have been mysteriously appearing and disappearing all over the world. The first was found in a remote canyon in Utah. Subsequently, similar sculptures were reported in around 30 countries, including Romania, France, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Colombia.
On the internet there are numerous theories about its origins and meanings. While some say these are works of art, with a similar movement in the 1960s, others have said that they are being placed by different artists and science fiction lovers in different places.
