One day after the Andhra Pradesh state cabinet led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced approval for the creation of a data center integrated by the Adani group at a cost of Rs 14,630 crore, Telangana also made a major announcement. Telangana Minister of IT and Industries KT Rama Rao announced that Amazon Web Services would establish multiple data centers in the state with a large investment of Rs 20,761 crore, which is the largest foreign direct investment in Telangana’s history.
He said that Amazon Web Services (AWS) would establish an AWS Region with three Availability Zones (AZ) in Hyderabad. The AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region is expected to begin operations in mid-2022.
Availability Zones would consist of multiple data centers in separate distinct locations within a single region that are designed to be operationally independent of each other with independent power, cooling, physical security, and connections over a low-latency network, KTR said.
AWS ‘$ 2.77 billion investment would position Telangana as one of the preferred destinations for other companies looking to establish data centers in the future.
“The establishment of data centers like AWS is expected to support Telangana’s digital economy and IT sector in a multiple way,” the official statement quoting the minister said.
The new AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region will allow even more developers, startups and enterprises, as well as government, educational and non-profit organizations, to run their applications and serve end users from the data centers located in the India.

In Andhra Pradesh, the Adani group would also establish an integrated IT and business park, a recreation center and a skills development university in Visakhapatnam.
Minister Kannababu said that TDP opposition leaders have been spreading false news that the Adani Group had abandoned the project.
In fact, the Chief Minister and the state government approved the projects and signed a memorandum of understanding allocating 150 acres to create jobs for 25,000 people. For the same project, the previous government had ceded 500 acres of land and signed for 6,000 jobs.
