Actor Faraaz Khan Dies at 46; Pooja Bhatt mourns her death: The Tribune India

Mumbai, November 4

Actor Faraaz Khan, known for starring in films such as “Fareb” and “Mehndi” in the 1990s, died in Bangalore on Wednesday. He was 46 years old.

The news of her passing was shared by actor and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt on social media.

“With a heavy heart I give you the news that #FaraazKhan has left us for what I believe is a better place. Thank you all for your help and good wishes when I needed it most.

“Please keep your family in your thoughts and prayers. The void you have left will be impossible to fill,” Bhatt said.

Khan, the son of the late Bollywood actor Yusuf Khan, was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru last month after suffering multiple seizures. His family members, Farhad Abousher and Ahmed Shamoon, had started a fundraising campaign to raise funds for his treatment.

They had said that Khan had been suffering from a cough and a chest infection for almost a year and it got worse recently.

Khan suffered three seizures when he was taken to hospital and was later diagnosed as having a “herpes infection of the brain that had spread from the chest.”

Bhatt had last month urged people to offer financial support for Khan’s treatment. After which, superstar Salman Khan paid for Khan’s medical expenses.

Khan had marked his Bollywood debut in 1996 with “Fareb” directed by Vikram Bhatt. He found fame after appearing as Rani Mukherjee’s husband in the social drama “Mehendi.”

His film credits also include such films as “Prithvi”, “Dulhan Banoo Main Teri”, “Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya” and “Chand Bujh Gaya”.

Khan also starred in many television shows like “Achanak 37 Saal Baad”, “Lipstick”, “Ssshhhh … Koi Hai” and “Raat Hone Ko Hai”. PTI
