Asif Basra is a familiar face in the entertainment industry. He played the character of Qureshi in Anusrag Kashyap’s documentary drama Black Friday, but movie enthusiasts sat down and realized his talent after Rahul Dholakia’s Parzania. However, that role that made him famous among Hindi film audiences was that of Emraan Hashmi’s police father in 2010’s biggest hit, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. He was also seen in the Sushant Singh Rajput film Kai Po Che and Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor starring Jab We Met.
He was also highly respected on the Indian theater circuit, especially for the five characters he played in Firoz Abbas Khan’s highly acclaimed show, Mahatma V / S Gandhi.
He also worked with actors like Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole in the historical drama One Night with the King. Apart from this, he has been a part of shows like Paatal Lok, Woh, Hostages.
