‘Active Covid-19 cases below 7.5 lakh, 14 states have mortality rate below 1%’: Ministry of Health


As the daily increase in the number of coronavirus illnesses (Covid-19) continues to fall in India, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday that active cases were resolved below the 7.5 lakh mark per second day. consecutive.

There are 7,40,090 active cases of Covid-19 in the country, representing 9.67 percent of the total number of cases, data from the Ministry of Health showed.

A total of 61,775 recoveries have been recorded in a 24-hour span in the country, while 54,044 new infections were reported during the same period, the Health Ministry said.

He also said that the national fatality rate (CFR) has dropped to 1.51 percent.

The ministry added that 14 states – Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Assam, Odisha and Kerala – are reporting a fatality rate of less than one percent.

The Center has advised states and union territories to aim to reduce the CFR below 1 percent.

The Health Ministry also said that it is observed that 77 percent of the new recovered cases are concentrated in 10 states and territories of the union.

India’s number of Covid-19 cases surpassed the 7.6 million mark on Wednesday with 54,044 new infections reported in one day. The death toll rose to 1,15,914 with 717 deaths registered within 24 hours, according to data from the Health Ministry.
