The second and final test between New Zealand and Pakistan began on Sunday at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. After being hit first, the visitors batted decently to end the innings and the day with 297 overall after hitting for 83.5 overs. Azhar Ali led the way with his 93-run hit as the skipper Mohammad Rizwan it also rose another half century.

But it was Naseem Shah who got the attention at the end of the day, not because of his batting skills. It all happened before the start of the 83rd, when he suggested 11th hitter Mohammad Abbas give him a quick single so he could score a few more runs.

However, the way he conveyed the message to his partner in Hindi was extremely funny and the comments were recorded on the stump microphone. Naseem Shah hilariously told Abbas that the entire responsibility is his for scoring runs and advised him to take a single somehow. Interestingly, he also added that Abbas will be the recipient of backlash from management if he doesn’t strike him soon.

“Abbas bhai, Abbas bhai, aapko pata bhi hai sari zimedaari mere uper hai. Karna hai single warna daant par jayegi, ”said Naseem. (The above statement translates to: brother of Abbas, you know that now all the responsibility is mine. You have to take only one, otherwise you will be scold in the dressing room)

Pakistan posts a competitive total on the board

In regards to the day’s game, Pakistan was knocked out by stump hitting after scoring 297 runs with Trent Boult collecting the last two plots. Earlier, it was Kyle Jamieson who threw magnificently to the visiting team’s four fields. Tim Southee was the first on the grounds when he sent Shan Masood for an 8-ball duck.

Abid Ali and Azhar Ali then sewed a 62-run position for second before Jamieson arrived and reduced Pakistan from 66/1 to 83/4. He fired Abid, Haris Sohail and Fawad Alam. Once again, although Rizwan triumphed playing his shots and was also lucky at times. His 61-for-71 quick shot helped the tourists get back into the game as Azhar Ali played in his usual way. He was unlucky not to make it to his position and Pakistan was eliminated shortly after he left.
