From Monday onwards, India will start domestic flight services. While that still seems a bit of confusion about the use of Aarogya respective eras application for the boarding, the Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri on Saturday, said that the application would not be mandatory for airmen and of a self-declaration form would be sufficient.

The Standard Operating Procedure published by the Airports Authority of India had made it mandatory for airline passengers. However, the minister said that those without the app, you could still board the flight if we could make a self-declaration form to inform their COVID-negative status at the airport.

After the self-declaration, passengers must undergo thermal screening. That part is not optional.

The problem, however, is even more complicated. While the SOP had been granted the exemption of the chiildren under the age of 14 years, also said that all passengers must be registered in the application on their mobile phones, and will be verified by the CISF or by the airport staff at the entrance gate of the terminal building.

For this, the minister said that those without the app would also be able to travel in flights, adding that the SOP was only a warning. “It is preferable to have the app but If you do not have the Aarogya respective eras app, you can give a self-declaration form,” he said.

He went on to compare the application of a passport, claiming to have an authorization of the application could help the passengers to skip the quarantine period.

“If someone has Aarogya respective eras app, is like a passport. If you have been green, why should anybody want any quarantine,” Puri said.

The application provides the color codes for designating the users as per their health status and travel history. This helps the user know if he or she is close to someone who has tested positive for the deadly virus.

The minister made it clear that those who do not the application can be tested for the virus in two or three days before the flight departure, to obtain a medical certificate, and you only have to fill the form that he or she is COVID-19 negative.

However, he did not urge that the passengers have the app, emphasizing quarantine factor: “If you have arogya respective eras of the application, and if you have yourself tested for COVID-19 and have been found negative, and if you do not show any symptoms, so I think that there is no need to quarantine,” he said.

Apart from the use of the application, the use of masks and gloves, and thermal control of the passengers will also be mandatory.

In the post-Covid world, flying is set to a different experience. With the social distancing and personal sanitation standards in place, following these rules will be very important to ensure a decent flight experience.
