Delhi Police said around 30 people were detained on Thursday after Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman and AAP leader Raghav Chadha alleged that BJP workers vandalized his office and attacked employees in the agency headquarters for supporting ongoing farmers’ protest. However, BJP denied the allegations and said the attack was orchestrated by AAP.

“BJP thugs broke into the Delhi Jal Board office and trashed it. They challenged me and warned CM Arvind Kejriwal not to support or speak on behalf of farmers. There are CCTV footage. It is clear that this incident took place with the help of the Delhi police, ”Chadha said according to ANI.

Chadha further said that the attack took place with the support of the Delhi Police. BJP workers had come to DJB’s Jhandewalan headquarters to protest and were allowed into the premises by police, it added.

Otherwise, how could thugs attack such a high security area? It is a premeditated attack by the BJP with the help of the Delhi police and its aim is clearly to threaten Arvind Kejriwal and all of us that we should not support the farmers, ”Chadha told PTI.

The AAP leader said about 250 people broke into his office and broke glasses, doors and pots. “They threatened my staff and attacked them,” he said.

Chadha also tweeted a video clip that allegedly showed broken doors, glass, pots, furniture, and blood stains on the floor.

“Around 30 people have been arrested after a group of people vandalized the Delhi Jal Board office. Legal action has been taken against offenders, ”Delhi Police quoted ANI as saying.

At a press conference about the incident, Chadha said: “We are not cowards like BJP. We will keep our grounds. We support farmers and we always will be ”.

On Twitter, Kejriwal called the attack “shameful” and said the AAP would not flinch from such an act of cowardice.

“It is so embarrassing. The BJP must understand that the Aam Aadmi Party and my government are totally with the farmers until our last breath. We are not afraid of these cowardly attacks. I appeal to all party workers not to be provoked by such attacks by the BJP and to express restraint and continue to support the farmers, ”Kejriwal tweeted.

BJP Delhi spokeswoman Virendra Babar alleged that the AAP itself had orchestrated the attack and now blamed the saffron party. The Delhi police arrested the head of the BJP unit, Adesh Gupta, and many workers. “We are not afraid of these tactics,” he said.

Earlier this month, the AAP had claimed that more than two dozen BJP men forced their way inside the official residence of the Chief Deputy Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia. The senior vice minister was not at home at the time, but his family was inside. The AAP released footage from two CCTV cameras at the entrance of the house on Mathura Road, showing about 30 people running forward and opening the door.
