New Delhi:
The Aam Aadmi party criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter on Thursday for not wearing a mask at a public event.
The group led by Arvind Kejriwal, one of the strongest critics of the BJP-led central government, tweeted a video of Prime Minister Modi entering an event apparently without a mask, while his security team and other officials were come covering their faces. The prime minister then, shows the clip, interacts with merchants who sell craft items.
“Put on a mask. Don’t be like Modi Hee“the party joked.

It is unclear when and where the video was shot.
Since the coronavirus pandemic hit the country, Prime Minister Modi has been urging the masses to practice social distancing and wear masks in public. In his multiple speeches to the nation since March, he had been seen covering his face.
In his September speech, Prime Minister Modi had urged people not to take the coronavirus lightly and follow the rules of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing diligently until scientists develop a vaccine.
“I have certain expectations of you. That is to follow the rule of wearing a mask and Do Gaj ki Doori (a distance of two yards) … Be safe and stay healthy. Take care of the elderly in the family. These things are important. Don’t take the coronavirus lightly, “he had said.
The ruling BJP has not reacted to the attack, but supporters of Prime Minister Modi on Twitter have alleged that senior AAP leaders had been seen without masks in public several times in recent months.
The BJP and the AAP have been exchanging criticism about the handling of the coronavirus in the states governed by the two parties. Delhi’s Chief Minister Kejriwal on Wednesday launched an all-out attack on Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his claim that the country’s most populous state had been handling the coronavirus situation better than Delhi.
“Yogi Hee, our great work on the coronavirus situation is being praised in the streets and mohallas of Uttar Pradesh. Like you, we don’t do fake corona tests, “he tweeted in Hindi.
