New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party will participate in the state elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2022, the party chief and Delhi’s chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, said today. Attacking rival parties, Kejriwal said the AAP, if elected to power, will form a corruption-free government in the neighboring state, adding that it has kept its promise in the national capital.

As the AAP makes constant efforts to expand its political footprint, the 52-year-old party chief said: “In the past eight years, the AAP has formed a government three times in Delhi. It has become the main opposition party in Punjab. But today, I want to make an important announcement … the party will participate in the state elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2022. “

“Today, people from UP are forced to come to Delhi in search of basic services like health and education. Can’t the largest state in India also become the most developed state?” he added while addressing a virtual press conference while criticizing the government of Yogi Adityanath.

“The dirty politics of the UP and the corrupt leaders and the blocking of the development of the state. The locals have given a chance to all the parties. But each government has set new records of corruption,” Kejriwal added.

Mr Kejriwal, whose AAP is proud of the work done in the education and health sector in the national capital, made comparisons between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

“If the government hospitals in Delhi can improve, people here can get free electricity 24 * 7, why can’t the same thing happen in UP? Why are schools in the neighboring state not up to standards when schools The Delhi government can set the benchmark – women’s safety, we’ve installed CCTV everywhere, but crimes against women keep increasing in UP, “she said.

In a significant push, the AAP claimed its first electoral victory in Goa on Monday when Hanzel Fernandes won the Zilla Panchayat elections in South Goa. “Congratulations to Hanzel Fernandes of AAP on winning Benaulim ZP’s seat in Goa. Many other AAP candidates have obtained a much higher share of the vote than last time. This is just the beginning. I am sure AAP will keep up. Living up to Goa’s trust and expectations, “Mr Kejriwal wrote on Twitter, thanking the coastal state.

The party has constantly tried to expand its political base. Last week, he said he will contest all seats in Gujarat’s local body elections early next year. “AAP Gujarat is emerging as a strong alternative in Gujarat. AAP will compete in all seats in the upcoming local elections. Youth leader Gopal Italia has been announced as the state convener of AAP Gujarat,” the party unit in Gujarat tweeted.
