New Delhi:
National spokesman for the Aam Aadmi Party, Raghav Chaddha, called Delhi’s civic bodies ruled by the BJP “the most corrupt” and said the government led by Arvind Kejriwal has ordered the pollution control committee to impose a fine. Rs 1 million against the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). to burn garbage outdoors.
“Even a fine of Rs 1 crore is less. We will get this money back anyway. We will attach your account if necessary. It is (burning garbage in the open) a crime,” said Chaddha. The NDMC had recently claimed that it was facing a funding crisis because the Delhi government owed it money.
However, NDMC Mayor Jai Prakash has said they have filed a police complaint against the Aam Aadmi Party for trying to smear the BJP.
“The local MLA and the MP are both from the Aam Aadmi Party. They intentionally burn garbage in the area (Kirari) and defame us,” Prakash told NDTV.
A day earlier, the AAP leader tweeted images of garbage burning at Baba Vidyapati Marg in Kirari, North Delhi, and accused the BJP-led civic bodies in power in the center and locked in an intense blame game with the AAP for air pollution in Delhi. – to allow it despite deteriorating air quality amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“I would like to ask the Central Pollution Control Board and the Supreme Court appointed EPCA, how is the BJP openly indulging in this criminal act with rampant impunity? How is the municipal corporation burning garbage with such brazenness,” he said .
The Delhi BJP unit responded by saying that Friday’s incident was a “lonely case.”
“Delhi BJP draws attention to massive dust pollution due to insensitive work on disabled people’s projects across the city including at Chowk Ashram, Pragati Maidan and especially Chandni Chowk, for which the Delhi High Court has shown concern , and demands a response from the Delhi government on this, “the Delhi BJP said in a statement.
“This is not political. We will take action against our own departments if they violate regulations aimed at controlling air pollution in Delhi,” Chaddha said today in light of recent sanctions imposed on violators, including the Delhi Department of Public Works and the Central Public. Works Department.
Continuing with his party’s attack on the governments of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for failing to control stubble burning, he said that agricultural fires were the “main contributor to pollution in Delhi.”
“Last month the air quality was good. How is it that in one month it has become ‘very poor’? Obviously it is due to the burning of stubble in Punjab and Haryana,” said the senior AAP leader, promoting the speech of the party founder and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. .
Chaddha added that his party would also introduce an odd and even road rationing system if necessary.
The Delhi government had recently launched the “Red Light On, Engine Off” campaign in an effort to prevent tons of vehicular emissions from being released into the air of Delhi, which has been in the category of “poor” to “very poor” for last week.
Both the central and Delhi governments have taken various measures to control air pollution in Delhi. However, he continues his game of blaming the state of the skies of the national capital.
