A setback for Pankaja Munde, Eknath Khadse as BJP declares candidates for Maharashtra Legislative Council polls

In a setback for senior BJP Leader Eknath Khadse, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced candidates for Maharashtra on Friday Legislative councilonce again sets it aside.

The party has decided to participate. Pravin datke, Gopichand Padalkar, Ajit Gopchade and Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil for legislative council surveys.

The Electoral Commission has announced surveys of the nine seats, which were previously delayed due to the new coronavirus outbreak.

Pankaja Munde, Vinod Tawde and Chandrashekhar Bawankule were among the top leaders waiting for the opportunity after a setback in the assembly elections.

Maharashtra Exams: Only final exams for college and university seniors will be taken from July 1

The Maharashtra government announced on Friday that the state will hold final exams only for those students who are in their final year of college or university.

Khadse had mentioned his interest in state politics and how he was interested in representing the party on the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Khadse was denied a ticket from Muktainagar’s seat in October Assembly polls. He has been in the cold for the past several years, after being forced to resign from Devendra Fadnavis’s previous cabinet on various charges.

Gopichand Padalkar, who was sent by the party, was defeated by Ajit Pawar by more than a lakh of votes in Baramati. Padalkar had lost the Lok Sabha polls from Sangli on a Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi ticket. The dhangar leader then joined the BJP.

While Ranjitsingh Mohite, son of Vijaysingh Mohite Patil, had joined the BJP before the Lok Sabha polls from April to May.
