Mumbai-based Anand Rajkumar Mishra has risen a 99.92 percentile on the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 despite spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic disorder that makes it difficult for her to walk without braces.
Mishra, however, did not let it affect his studies. Born into a family of four siblings, all of whom are doctors, the 23-year-old always had an affinity for business and finance, which motivated him towards high school. Aspire to join either IIM-Ahmedabad, Bangalore or Calcutta or the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi.
“I joined coaching to pass the IIT entrance exam, but during that time I used to study books related to finances, billionaires and the biography of successful people. I began to develop an interest in trading. However, I studied science, as it was considered the right course for deserving students, ”said Mishra, who studied B.Tech in project management.
After completing his graduation, he applied for CAT in 2019. Although he had passed the entrance exam by getting a 73rd percentile, he was not satisfied with his performance and tried to take the exam again in 2020. He said he was determined to get Admission to one of the IIMs to fulfill your dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
“I have studied a lot about alternative investments and I realized that this field is neglected in India. There is a void in this space that offers a great opportunity for new business, ”he said.
To pass this year’s exam, Mishra said he focused on mock tests. “Last year, I had focused on knowledge of books, and this year I focused on mock tests. I had signed up for simulations from almost every major vendor. I showed up for over 100 mock tests and each time I analyzed my performance and worked on my weak areas. I would recommend this style of practice to all applicants, ”he said.
He was hoping to score around the 99th percentile after reviewing the answer key and is currently seeking training for the interview rounds at Quoin Academy. Your teacher at the academy, Patrick D’Souza, has also passed CAT 2020 with 99.98 percentile marks. He also got the 100th percentile last year and has so far tried CAT 18 times and beat six times.
