A 17-year-old boy kills his father, watches ‘Crime Patrol’ 100 times to learn how to destroy evidence: The Tribune India

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), October 29

In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy killed his father in a fit of rage and followed the directions of the television series “Crime Patrol” to destroy the evidence.

When the boy, a student in class 12, was arrested Wednesday, police checked his mobile phone and found that he had watched the ‘Crime Patrol’ series more than 100 times.

The boy reportedly killed his father Manoj Mishra, 42, on May 2 when the latter scolded him.

The boy hit his father on the head with an iron rod and when he fainted, he strangled him with a piece of cloth.

Later that night, the boy, with the help of his mother, took the body on his skateboard to an area of forest about three miles away and burned it with gasoline and a toilet cleaner to destroy the identity.

On May 3, the police found the partially burned body that remained unidentified for almost three weeks as no disappearance report was presented at any police station.

The family finally filed a disappearance complaint on May 27 under pressure from ISKCON officials as Manoj Mishra worked there as a donation collector.

Some of his colleagues identified the body as Manoj’s from his glasses. The victim’s colleagues in ISKCON said they did not doubt his prolonged absence, as Manoj used to travel to preach the Bhagavad Gita.

Mathura (city) Police Superintendent Udai Shanker Singh said that every time the police called Manoj’s son for questioning, he avoided coming and instead asked the police under what provisions of the law they were trying to interrogate him.

However, when police checked his mobile phone, they found a history of the boy watching Crime Patrol episodes at least 100 times. Police said that after several rounds of questioning, the boy finally broke down and admitted his crime.

Police arrested the boy and his mother, Sangeeta Mishra, 39. They were booked for murder and destruction of evidence.

The 11-year-old sister of the accused has been handed over to the grandparents. IANS
