Many ministers and party leaders also tweeted about Modi’s highest approval ratings, saying the country had full confidence in his leadership at the time of this crisis.
Modi had the highest popularity rating among world leaders according to a recent analysis by pollster Morning Consult. As of April 14, his net approval rating was 68, according to the pollster.
Modi’s high rating was followed by praise from Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who wrote a letter to the Prime Minister praising his leadership in handling the Covid-19 crisis and the steps his government has taken to flatten the curve of coronavirus cases in India.
Gates said: “We commend your leadership and the proactive steps you and your government have taken to flatten the curve of the Covid-19 infection rate in India.”
