NEW DELHI: Twelve family members, including a two-month-old boy, who resides in a containment area in Old Delhi, tested positive for Covid-19, an official said Thursday.
All of them have been sent to the LNJP Hospital.
A man from the family had returned from Uzbekistan last month and had not informed authorities. Later, he began to show Covid-19 symptoms such as cough and shortness of breath, after which he was tested, they said.
Her test came back positive recently, after which 11 other family members living in the Churiwalan area of ​​the Walled City were also tested, and all came back positive, authorities said.
Affected people in the family include a two-month-old baby, they said.
The containment area has been further sealed after these cases were reported.
Thirty-one members of an extended family, including children, residing in the northern Delhi Jahangirpuri area, part of which has been declared a containment area, had recently tested positive for Covid-19.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Delhi on Thursday increased to 2,376 with 50 deaths.
