Days after Jasleen Matharu shared a photo of herself wearing sindoor (vermilion) and chooda (wedding bracelets), Anup Jalota has refuted speculation that they were married during the closure. In fact, he said that she was like a “daughter” to him and that he would do her kanyadaan (a Hindu ritual in which the father of the bride “gives her away”).
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Anup said: “Not again! My marriage to Jasleen is new to me. Me and her father are looking for a suitable partner for her. I have suggested a Punjabi boy who lives in Canada. Nothing is fixed yet.
Anup insisted that her relationship with Jasleen was purely platonic. “I gave you a statement after leaving Big Boss that I will do his kanyadaan. And I’ll do it. She is my student and a daughter to me, “he said.
Jasleen previously clarified that she used sindoor and chooda to record a TikTok video, and didn’t expect the image to cause such confusion among fans. “I was filming a music video for Saathiya’s song Chupke Se at home. Yes, I dressed as a newly married girl on her honeymoon. But surely, I didn’t expect that to lead to so much chaos, “he said in an interview.

Jasleen was recently spotted on the swayamvar-themed reality show Mujhse Shaadi Karoge. She was one of the contenders to marry Paras Chhabra, but was kicked out of the program due to fewer votes.
Jasleen was the center of attention when she entered Bigg Boss 12 with Anup, 37 years her senior, as a couple. Although he claimed they had been dating for three years before joining the program, he later said it was a “joke” that went terribly wrong and that the only relationship between them is that of a student and a teacher.
Meanwhile, Anup and Jasleen will star in a movie together called Vo Meri Student Hai. The film will be directed by his father Kesar Matharu.
