In what could spell further trouble for Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze, arrested in connection with Mukesh Ambani’s explosives scare case, the suspended police officer was seen leading a colleague charged with the murder of a businessman linked to the case. scared of Ambani bomb, sources. he told NDTV on Thursday.

In CCTV footage on March 2, Sachin Vaze was seen driving an Audi car and passing through the toll gates at Bandra Worli Sea Link, three days before Mansukh Hiran’s body was pulled out of a stream. Former police officer Vinayak Shinde can be seen in the car with Sachin Waze, sources said.

The Audi sedan has been tracked down by the National Investigative Agency (NIA) which is investigating the case. The agency had previously seized at least six cars, including a Mitsubishi Outlander, two Mercedes Benz, allegedly used by Sachin Vaze.

The case involving the death of Mansukh Hiran, who is said to be the owner of the explosive-laden SUV that was found near the home of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani last month, was transferred by the Interior Ministry to the central agency.

Agent Vinayak Shinde, 55, was arrested along with bookmaker Naresh Dhare, 31, last month in connection with the death of Mansukh Hiran at the hands of the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad on the same day the case was transferred to the NIA.

Hiran’s body was found in a Mumbra stream on March 5 days after the explosives-laden van, found on Mumbai Carmichael Road on February 25, was traced to him. The truck also had a letter threatening Ambani’s family.

The businessman had reported the theft of the truck on February 17. Mr. Vaze allegedly borrowed the vehicle for four months until he returned it on February 5. The wife of the deceased businessman had alleged Mr. Vaze’s involvement in her husband’s death.

The NIA, which is investigating the threat to Mr. Ambani, had previously arrested Mr. Vaze for his alleged role in the placement of the Mahindra Scorpio near Antilia.
