On the day that Nandigram’s high-profile constituency went to the polls in the second phase of the Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took photos of West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, and asked if she was contemplating fighting from another district.
“Didi, is there any truth to the rumor that you are submitting the nomination for another constituency? First, you went there (Nandigram) and people gave you an answer. If you go elsewhere, the people of Bengal are ready, ”Prime Minister Modi said while addressing a rally in Uluberia, which will vote in the third phase on April 6.
Speaking about the high voting percentage in Nandigram, where CM Banerjee is locked in a fierce electoral contest with his former lieutenant Suvendu Adhikari now with the BJP, the Prime Minister said: “I made You should go. The people of Nandigram have fulfilled this dream today. They cannot wait any longer to save their future and their identity. They are not just voting, they are paving the way for a rebirth in Bengal. “
After mocking Banerjee for leaving his seat in Bhabanipur to compete with Nandigram, Modi said that he is now realizing that he has made a mistake. “The mood from the polls says Nandigram is doing what the entire state wants to do,” he added.
West Bengal witnessed more than 80 percent voter turnout in the second phase as of 5.30 pm, while the state recorded almost 85 percent of polls in the first phase of the eight-phase elections.
Confident that his party will win more than 200 seats and come to power in Bengal, Modi, who addressed two rallies in Jaynagar and Uluberia, said that people are voting in large numbers and that there is a saffron wave in the state.
“BJP’s strong start in the first phase makes it clear that people’s voices have received God’s blessing. The BJP will obtain more than 200 seats and will form the government, ”he added.

Returning to the theme of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, Modi said: “Before, Mamata Didi had problems with the chants of Jai Shri Ram, about the immersion of Durga’s idols. Now TMC has a problem with people wearing saffron, sporting tilak and choti (lock of hair). They are calling them rakshasas (demons) “.
This was in reference to CM Banerjee who revealed his “gotra” (clan) while campaigning in Nandigram. The revelation had prompted Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who wears a choti, to ask: “Do you regard the Rohingya and other infiltrators as Shandilya (Banerjee’s gotra) and offer them the red carpet. “Singh’s comment drew a strong response from TMC MP Mohua Moitra, who tweeted:” Giriraj says Mamata is from the Rohingyaa clan. Proud of it. Much better than belonging. to the Chotiwala Rakshasa clan. “

Attacking Mamata for writing a letter to opposition leaders to unite against the saffron party, Modi said she is so frustrated after the first phase of the polls that she seeks help from those she considers “outsiders and tourists.”
“Sometimes I made He calls me a tourist, sometimes a stranger. You regard the infiltrators as yours and call the sons of Bharat Mata as outsiders. Stop distinguishing people and insulting the Constitution by labeling people as outsiders, ”Modi added.
The prime minister also struck back at the TMC chief for calling his trip to Bangladesh unethical and in violation of the model code of conduct. “I visited one of the 51 Shaktipeeths: the Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Bangladesh. TMC has been offended. Is it wrong to pay tribute to Shri Harichand Thakur (founder of the Matua sect) in Orakandi? I ask. “I don’t believe in showing seasonal faith (shraddha). We always pride ourselves on our faith and tradition, ”Modi added.
