Starting April 1, Covid-19 vaccination will be open to all those aged 45 and over, marking a new chapter in India’s ongoing fight against the ongoing pandemic. The advance reservation of spaces at cowin.gov.in is now open. This vaccination phase comes at a time when the country is experiencing an increase in the number of daily infections after cases declined in December and January. The government is currently focusing on bringing more people under the vaccination campaign as the fury of the pandemic has not abated.
In this phase also, the registration will be done through the cowin.gov.in portal. This is all you need to know about the new vaccination phase that will start tomorrow.
> You do not need the Co-win mobile app to register. You must register through the cowin.gov.in portal. Or, you can register through the Aarogya Setu app, which will take you to the Co-win portal.
> The login process is simple and OTP-based.
> A certificate of comorbidity will not be required for registration, as vaccination is now open to all people over 45 years of age.
> However, a photo ID will be required. The same data will be collated, which will also be checked at the vaccination center.
> Your original date of birth will be required as this is an age-specific vaccination phase.
> The on-site booking facility or walk-in registration will also be available at this stage. But this will be done only after 3pm.
> Covishield versus Covaxin: The Center has been reiterating that both vaccines are safe and equally effective against the UK and Brazilian variants.
> If you are going to be vaccinated with Covishield, the Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine, your second vaccination date will not be automatically scheduled. You will have to choose the second date in an interval of no more than four to eight weeks.
> You will receive a certificate after the first dose, which is the provisional vaccination certificate.
