First fight Abhishek, then me: Mamata Banerjee hits back at Amit Shah

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Thursday fought back on the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah in his “Didi-Bhaipo” taunt, challenging him to first compete against his nephew and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee in an election, and then ‘think about fighting’ with her.

Addressing a rally in Pailan in South 24 Parganas shortly after Amit Shah released the fifth ‘Parivartan Yatra‘in the same district, Banerjee said that Abhishek is an elected representative of the people. He said Abhishek could have taken the easy route of becoming a deputy by choosing to be a member of the Rajya Sabha, but he chose to fight in the Lok Sabha elections and obtained the mandate of the people.

“Day and night they are talking about Didi-Bhatija. I challenge Amit Shah, I compete against Abhishek Banerjee first and then against me, ”he said, amid loud cheers from TMC supporters.

Furthermore, in a direct attack on the Union minister, he asked: “How come your son became part of the cricket administration and won hundreds of million rupees?”

Mamata also challenged Amit Shah to get her son into politics.

She radiated confidence that the TMC will break all records, get the most votes and win the most seats in the upcoming Bengal elections.

This is the first time in the run-up to the assembly elections that Banerjee and Shah have held rallies in the same district and at about the same time.

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah marked the final leg of the BJP’s five-phase ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

Claiming that the TMC government has introduced a culture of “cutting money” into West Bengal, he had said that the BJP’s struggle is to end it and lead the state on the path of development if power is voted in the next assembly elections. .

Election to the Assembly of 294 member states is expected in April-May of this year.
