AP Panchayat Election 2021 Phase 2 Live Poll Updates: According to recent reports, Andhra Pradesh YSRCP candidates CM Jagan Mohan Reddy lead in most seats, while TDP is reported to be a distant second. YCP-backed candidates have reportedly won 1,189 seats in Sarpanch, while TDP-backed candidates have so far won just 191 seats. BJP ally Jana Sena has won eight seats so far, while others, including independent candidates, have won 34 seats. In Srikakulam district, YCP won 41 seats, while opposition parties were unable to open an account here. In Vijayanagar, YCP won 64, TDP 2 and another 3 seats. YCP won 22 in Visakhapatnam, 16 in East Godavari district and 15 in West Godavari. In the second phase of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat elections a total of 81.61 percent of today’s elections were recorded. The highest voter turnout was recorded in Prakasam with 86.93 percent. Krishna district recorded 84.12%, Guntur 85.51%, Prakasam 86.93%, Nellore 78.04%, Chittoor 77.20%, Kadapa 80.47%, Kurnool 80.76%, Anantapur 84.65 %, P.Go 81.75%. The vote count is already underway and the results will arrive soon. Voting for the second phase has ended peacefully in most places, as small squabbles were reported in some places between supporters of political parties. In the second phase, elections would be held for a total of 33,570 ward member positions. Of these, 12,604 members of the ward have already been elected unanimously. Therefore, elections are being held to decide the fate of 20,817 members of the ward. In the second phase, there are up to 2,786 panchayats up for grabs. Up to 7,507 candidates are fighting for sarpanch positions and 44,876 are fighting for ward members. The panchayat elections began on February 9 and would run until February 21 in four phases. The first phase of the election was held on February 9.

Today, the voting began at 6.30 in the morning and concluded at 3.30 in the afternoon. Elections were to be held for 3,328 sarpanch of Panchayat, but 539 have already been unanimously elected and no nominations for three villages have been presented. Elections are held using ballots. In total, 29,304 polling stations have been enabled, of which 5,480 have been identified as sensitive and 4,181 hypersensitive. All necessary precautions are in place as per COVID-19 protocols amid tight security measures and PPE kits will be provided to infected voters.
