Trinamool Congress Deputy Dinesh Trivedi Resigns from Rajya Sabha | India News


NEW DELHI: In another jolt to the Trinamool Congress Before the next West Bengal assembly elections, party MP Dinesh Trivedi resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat on Friday.
“I’m giving up Rajya sabha today. There is violence in my state. We cannot talk about anything here, “said the TMC leader when announcing his resignation on the floor of the Upper House.
“Grateful to my party that they have sent me here. I feel suffocated because we cannot do anything about the violence in the state. My soul tells me that if you cannot do anything sitting here, then you must resign. West Bengal, “Trivedi said.
“My voice of conscience is saying what Swami Vivekananda used to say: get up, wake up and don’t stop until the goal is reached,” Trivedi said.
Rajya Sabha Vice President Harivansh Narayan Singh said there is due process to resign from the House and asked Trivedi to submit his resignation in writing to the President.

In reaction to Trivedi’s resignation, TMC MP Sukhendu S Roy said his party will send “grassroots workers to Rajya Sabha soon.”
“Trinamool means grassroots. This will give us the opportunity to send one of our grassroots workers to Rajya Sabha soon,” Sukhendu told ANI.

Speaking to ANI, BJP General Secy Kailash Vijayvargiya said that if Trivedi wants to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, we will welcome him. “Not only Dinesh Trivedi, whoever wants to do honest work, cannot stay in the Trinamool Congress,” added Vijayvargiya.
Before Trivedi, several leaders resigned from the party, including Rajib Banerjee, Sovan chaterjee, Suvendu Adhikari, Y Laxmi ratan shukla.

As Banerjee, Chaterjee and Adhikari joined the Bhartiya Janata Party, Shukla has decided to take a break from politics and will complete his term as an MLA.
