How much is left in the wallet for CSK, RCB, KXIP, KKR, RR, DC, MI, SRH?
How much player money is currently left with each franchise for IPL auctions? And how CSK, RCB, KXIP, KKR, RR, DC, MI, SRH plan to increase the wallet size
Chennai Super Kings (Remaining Wallet – Rs 0.15 crore) – CSK wants to renew its equipment as previously announced by MS Dhoni. The only option CSK has at its disposal is to free up current players to increase their wallet size. Then only CSK will be able to buy the players in the auction. They have the lowest remaining wallet among all franchises, that is, only 15 Lacs. Prepare for many cuts and changes in the CSK team.
Mumbai Indians (Wallet remaining; Rs 1.95 crore) – The 5-time Mumbai Indians champions are doing very well at this stage with a very well established team. No big cuts required, changes are required, so there is no stress on the current wallet size, i.e. 1.95 Cr.
Royal Channel Bangalore (Remaining Wallet: Rs 6.4 crore) – Some players like Dale Steyn, Parthiv Patel have already pulled out of IPL 2021, so RCB will have a larger wallet available with them for IPL auctions. Also, they can publish some names like Umesh Yadav to increase the money in the wallet.
Kolkata Knight Riders (Remaining Wallet: Rs. 8.5 crore) – KKR has some big salaried players on their team. Cummins, Russell, Narine, Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav have huge salaries; KKR may reduce some of them to increase the size of the bag. InsideSport has already reported the likelihood of Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav losing IPL contracts.
Kings XI Punjab (Remaining Wallet: Rs. 16.5 crore) – Like KKR, KXIP also has some top salaried foreign recruits like Glenn Maxwell. KXIP is likely to free Maxwell and a few others to bring more money to their wallet so they can buy players of their choice during auctions.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (Remaining Wallet: Rs. 10.1 crore) – SRH also needs to boost their squad from a few angles to prepare for IPL 2021. They currently have 10.1 Cr remaining in the player’s bag and can drop some big guns to upgrade the purse to a minimum of 20-25 Cr.
Rajasthan Royals (Remaining wallet: 14.75 million rupees) – RR after a promising start to IPL 2020 finished in eighth place. New RR investors are likely to make some tough decisions by ending the relationship with some big names like Steve Smith. RR is looking for a 25Cr wallet size to make the new purchase.
Capital of Delhi (Remaining wallet: 9 million rupees) Like the Indians of Mumbai, Delhi Capitals do not have a desperate need to cut and change teams. The IPL 2020 finalists will feel reassured and are unlikely to be very active in the IPL Mini Auctions.
