India sees 15,968 new Covid cases, 1.04 million cases in total: 10 points

India has recorded more than 1.04 million coronavirus cases so far.

As the first batch of thousands of doses of coronavirus vaccines reaches different parts of the country, India saw an increase of 15,968 new infections in the last 24 hours, almost 26% more than 12,584 yesterday. More than 1.01 crore of Covid patients have already recovered since the start of the pandemic; 2.14 lakh of cases are active. Yesterday, the government urged people to continue to follow appropriate Covid behavior ahead of the nationwide launch of the vaccine, which will begin on Saturday. So far, 1.51 lakh of coronavirus patients have died; 369 deaths were reported from different parts of the country in the last 24 hours.
