Tamil Nadu allows 100% occupancy in cinemas days after actor Vijay’s meeting with CM

“The seating capacity of cinemas / theaters / multiplexes will be allowed to increase from the current 0% to 100% following the Standard Operating Procedure already issued. Furthermore, in order to raise awareness among viewers, the Covid 19 precautionary measures will also be screened during showtime, ”the government order issued on Monday indicated.

Cinemas, theaters and multiplexes in Tamil Nadu were allowed to reopen as of November 10 with 50% of their seating capacity after the Interior Ministry allowed COVID-19 guidelines to be relaxed.

On December 28, actor Vijay had met with Edappadi Palaniswami during his upcoming release, Master, and the actor, along with others from the film’s team, had requested the Chief Minister to increase the capacity versus the current capacity of the 50 % of seats in cinemas. The film starring Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Malavika Mohanan and Arjun Das, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Xavier Britto, is set to be the largest release in Tamil after the pandemic.
