NEW DELHI: As India prepares for the world’s largest vaccination program, India’s Controller General of Drugs (DCGI) on Sunday quelled rumors surrounding Covid-19 vaccines regarding impotence, dismissing those speculations as “complete nonsense”.
“We will never approve anything if there is the slightest concern for safety. Vaccines are 110% safe. Some side effects like mild fever, pain and allergy are common to all vaccines. It is (the impotence rumors) complete nonsense.” VG Somani, Comptroller General of Drugs of India.
When asked if people would experience side effects after receiving the vaccine, DCGI said: “Yes, there will be minor side effects, such as a little pain in the shoulders, mild fever, minor allergies. This occurs in all vaccines, except -Of course, the vaccine is 110% safe. ”
Meanwhile, he said, ‘It (vaccines) are very safe, don’t worry’ in their interaction.
