CHENNAI: A Covid-19 vaccine for vulnerable older people in Tamil Nadu and people with comorbidities could be available in early May if all goes well, public health officials estimate.
On Saturday, at the end of the trial for the first stage of vaccination, officials said it would take almost a month to complete the process for the group according to the protocol of the Union Ministry of Health. The first phase is likely to be slow as adverse reactions and other technical failures during vaccination will be closely monitored. “After this, we will vaccinate front-line workers, including police and uniformed service personnel. By the time we reach the vulnerable population, which makes up the large part of the population in this phase, we will have the appropriate experience to accelerate the process, ”said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan of Government General Hospital Rajiv Gandhi.

The volunteers took separate exits and entrances, wore masks and upheld social distancing rules. The text message stated that the process was completed successfully along with a date and time for the booster injection. The volunteer was asked to wait in the observation room for half an hour.
