NEW DELHI: Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat On Saturday he visited several air bases located in advanced areas near the Real control line in Arunachal Pradesh and assessed India’s overall security scenario in the eastern sector, official sources said.
They said that General Rawat interacted with army, ITBP and soldiers of the Special Frontier Force (SFF) deployed at the bases, including in the Dibang Valley and the Lohit sector of Arunachal Pradesh.
He praised the high morale of the troops and expressed confidence that those fighting the Indian defense forces will be destroyed, they said.
The Defense Chief of Staff also congratulated the soldiers for the innovative measures taken to maintain effective surveillance and greater operational readiness, they said.
He said that only Indian soldiers could remain vigilant in such “challenging situations” and always ready to go beyond the call of duty to safeguard the borders, according to the sources.
