Five Indian players, including Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant, are in isolation after video surfaced of them eating inside a Melbourne restaurant. In addition to Rohit and Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini have parted ways with the Indian and Australian teams. The five Indian players, however, will be able to train “in accordance with the strict protocols that have been put in place to ensure the continued safety of all members of the Indian and Australian squads,” said a statement from Cricket Australia. Both the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) and the Australian board have also launched an investigation for a possible violation of biosecurity protocols.
“The BCCI and CA are investigating the matter and seeking to determine if the departure constitutes a violation of biosafety protocols.”

Meanwhile, on the advice of the Australian and Indian medical teams, the aforementioned players have been isolated as a precautionary measure. This will include separating the group of players from the larger teams in India and Australia when traveling and at the training site. “added the CA statement.
A fan had posted a video on Twitter of the players sitting inside a restaurant, also claiming that he had paid the bill for their lunch.

After initially claiming that Pant had “hugged” him, the fan later clarified that the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman “never hugged me, it was all said with enthusiasm.”
Clarification: Pant never hugged me, everything was said with enthusiasm, we maintained social distance at all times 🙂 Apologies for the lack of communication @BCCI @CricketAus @Daily telegraph
