Karnataka schools reopen for students in classes 10 and 12 after more than nine months

The teacher added that the preparations were similar to the measures taken during the conduct of exams in schools earlier this year.

Several private schools also decided to open on Friday, however, some school administrations have decided to continue with online classes and take more time to prepare for the schools to reopen.

Unlike their private school counterparts, public school students in Karnataka have not had online classes this academic year. His education was disrupted when the Vidyagama scheme, a community learning scheme, launched by the Karnataka government, was halted in October due to reports of COVID-19 cases among teachers and students.

The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, S Suresh Kumar, visited the schools and verified the measures implemented for the students on the first day of classes.

Students wishing to attend classes at the school were asked to bring letters from their parents giving their consent. Public school teachers took COVID-19 tests before schools reopened.

Regular classes for students in class 11 are expected to resume starting January 15. The Vidyagama program for students in classes 6-9 is also expected to resume shortly.
