Several schools had already conducted pre-board exams online to keep students prepared.

New Delhi:

Final exams for classes 10 and 12 for schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be held from May 4 to June 10 and the results will be announced on July 15, the minister announced Thursday. of Union Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

“Board exams for classes 10 and 12 will be held from May 4 to June 10. Schools will be able to take practical exams starting March 1. The date sheet for both classes will be due soon. Results will be declared before July 15. “Mr. Pokhriyal announced.

The three-month delay due to the coronavirus pandemic raised concerns about the impact on college admissions, especially for those who intend to study abroad.

Generally, practical tests take place in January and theory exams start in February and conclude in March.

Nishank had last week ruled out conducting board examinations until February in light of the COVID-19 situation.

With no clarity on board exam dates, several schools had already conducted pre-board exams online to keep students prepared.

The CBSE had announced earlier this month that the board’s exams in 2021 will be conducted in written mode and not online.

Schools across the country were closed in March to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. They were partially reopened in some states as of October 15.

However, some states have decided to keep them closed in light of an increase in the number of infections.

This year’s board exams had to be postponed to mid-March. They were later canceled and the results announced on the basis of an alternative evaluation plan.
