Vistadome Coaches: Soon, tourists will have an impressive experience with the new Vistadome tourist coaches. Recently, the Indian Railways led by Piyush Goyal successfully completed a 180 km per hour speed test of a new design Vistadome tourist coach. According to details shared by the Ministry of Railways, these Vistadome coaches will make train journeys memorable for passengers, as well as give a new boost to tourism. Indian Railways’ new Vistadome sightseeing coach has been manufactured by Integral Coach Factory (ICF). Vistadome coaches are European-style coaches, offering a panoramic view to railway passengers while enhancing travel comfort.

For an unforgettable viewing experience, Vistadome coaches operating on the Indian railway network have been fitted with large windows on the sides as well as glass panels on the roof of the trains. On the Indian railway network, Vistadome coaches are operated on select routes including the Nilgiri Mountain Railway Line, Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Kalka-Shimla Railway, Kangra Valley Railway, Matheran Hill Railway, between Dadar in Mumbai and Madgoan in the Araku valley as well as in the Kashmir valley.

A few days ago, the national carrier announced the production of the first coach shell by the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory of Indian Railways, located in Latur, Maharashtra. According to the Ministry of Railways, this coach factory will contribute to the overall development of the region by heralding a modern industrial ecosystem. The Marathwada rail car factory, which started almost two years ago, has been designed with an initial capacity to produce up to 250 advanced MEMU / LHB / EMU train-type cars per year. However, the capacity of the coach factory can be improved as sufficient free space has been marked on the layout plan. The cost of the project is Rs 500 million in addition to the cost of land of Rs 120 million, the ministry said.
