After 145 days of taking over the case to investigate the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Central Bureau of Investigation has said it is investigating all aspects of the case and nothing has been ruled out.
In October, a team of doctors from AIIMS in Delhi had told CBI that the actor was not murdered and that it was a suicide case, dismissing the theories of poisoning and strangulation floated by the actor’s family and his lawyer. .
BJP deputy Subramanian Swamy had written to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) asking about the status of the investigation, after which the PMO sent the letter to the CBI.
In its response to Mr Swamy, the center’s investigative agency said: “The CBI is conducting a thorough and professional investigation using the latest scientific techniques. During the investigation, all aspects are being analyzed and no ruled out any aspect to date. “
“During the investigation, advanced mobile forensic equipment, including the latest software, has been used for the extraction and analysis of relevant data available on the digital devices and also for the analysis of dump data from the relevant cell tower locations related to the case, “said the CBI.
“During the investigation, all witnesses have been examined to understand the circumstances and apprehensions raised by the complainant and his relatives and other independent sources. An intensive and exhaustive investigation has been carried out in this regard,” said the CBI. “The investigation team together with senior officials visited all the places of interest: Aligarh, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Manesar and Patna,” he said.
“The investigation team and senior officers have visited the incident scene numerous times to better understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Experts from CFSL, New Delhi, considered the best in their field in India, also visited and examined the place “The experts also conducted a simulation exercise,” said the CBI, referring to the Central Laboratory of Forensic Sciences.
The 34-year-old actor was found dead on June 14 in his Mumbai apartment. Although the Mumbai police, based on the autopsy, called it a suicide, the wild speculations and justice campaigns on social media and the accusations of the Rajput family raised doubts and that became part of the CBI general investigation. .
More than a month after Rajput’s death, his father, KK Singh, filed a case in Bihar, accusing his 28-year-old son’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her family of financially cheating and mentally harassing him, causing him to led to suicide.
The investigation eventually took a turn toward alleged drug use. Ms. Chakraborty was arrested on 8 September by the Narcotics Control Office on charges of organizing drugs for Mr. Rajput. He was released on bail on October 7, almost a month after his arrest. Harassed by conspiracy theorists, a section of the media and an onslaught of online hatred, Ms Chakraborty has denied all charges made by Sushant Singh’s father as “total nonsense”.
