Telangana Man Tested With Coronavirus Strain In Warangal, State Government Prepares To Address Spread

The new coronavirus strain has been found in India with samples from six UK returnees who tested positive for the British variant: three samples from NIMHANS of Bengaluru, two from CCMB of Hyderabad and one from NIV of Pune.

The new coronavirus The strain has been found in a 49-year-old man, who arrived from the UK on 10 December, in Warangal de Telangana. The health department has already shared the information with the state and the Central Government.

The new strain of coronavirus It has been found in India with samples from six returnees from the UK who tested positive for the British variant: three samples from the NIMHANS in Bengaluru, two from the CCMB in Hyderabad and one from the NIV in Pune.

The man from the urban district of Warangal was found to have coronavirus symptoms on December 16 and diagnosed with COVID-19 positive on December 22, sources said. He has been receiving treatment in a private hospital in Warangal.

Samples were collected by medical authorities again and then sent to the Center for Cell and Molecular Biology-CCMB, Hyderabad for further analysis after their return from the UK.

After genetic analysis of the sample, CCMB confirmed that the virus has shown a significant change and that the virus has similarities to the new UK virus strain.

The medical authorities were alerted and tests were carried out on the victim’s family and relatives.

The 71-year-old mother of the victim also tested positive and was treated at a private hospital in Warangal and her samples were sent to the CCMB for further analysis.

“Both victims are stable and will be under medical supervision for another week. We ran two tests before confirming negative for the UK virus.” said a senior medical official.

The Telangana medical health department in the state has been alerted to control the tension Coronavirus and prepare a strategy to prevent it at an early stage.

Chief Secretary Rizvi had an urgent meeting with departmental officials on Monday.
