Rajinikanth says goodbye to politics even before taking the plunge | India News

CHENNAI: Days after being discharged from Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad, actor Rajinikanth announced Tuesday that it would not launch a politic party.
He cited his health condition as the reason for his decision and offered an apology to his fans and members of the Rajini Makkal Mandram. He was due to make an announcement on December 31 about the launch of his political party.
In a three-page statement, Rajinikanth detailed his health condition and said he could not launch the political party. “With regret, I am saying that I cannot start the political party,” he said, adding that only he could understand the “pain he endured” to make such a decision and make the announcement.

On December 27, he was released from Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad after three days of treatment for hypertension. He was in Hyderabad for the filming of the Sun Pictures movie Annaatthe. The shooting was called off after a couple of crew members tested positive for Covid-19.
This decision would be a great disappointment for his fans and RMM members, who were expecting him to launch a political party, Rajini said and apologized.
