Kanpur postal department accidentally releases stamps with gangsters Chhota Rajan, Bajrangi – lucknow

The Kanpur Postal Department printed and distributed postage stamps of the gangsters Chhota Rajan and Munna Bajrangi. Postmaster general VK Varma admitted the mistake by an employee.

“We are internally investigating how this happened and why said secretary could not identify the gangsters,” he said.

Red-faced, the postal department said its employees would be more careful and scrutinize the information more rigorously from now on.

Around twelve stamps, each from Rajan and Bajrangi, were accidentally printed under the ‘My Stamp’ scheme, which was launched by the department in 2017. Under this scheme, anyone who pays 300 rupees can get stamps with their photos or the of their relatives printed and released.

“Stamps are like any other stamp and can be placed on envelopes,” postal department officials said. The scheme is quite popular and people have been gifting these stamps to their family and friends.

The process is now becoming more complete, Varma said. From now on, employees would examine the documents more carefully and would not make the stamps if the person was not physically present on the webcam, he added.

“From now on, just an identity card was enough; now we will ask for more details and make sure the person is present in the room, ”said Varma.

In this case, someone released the photographs claiming that Rajan and Bajrangi were his relatives. Without asking for their identification documents, which is essential, the secretary took out 12 stamps each with their photographs.

The form that was filled out before the stamps were delivered bore the names ‘Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi’ and ‘Rajendra Nikhalje alias Chhota Rajan’.

Rajan is currently in a Mumbai jail and Bajrangi was killed in Baghpat jail in western Uttar Pradesh on July 9, 2018.
