But he made the sensational catch moments after entering the field as a replacement for Martin Guptill, who incidentally injured himself after throwing himself into the air trying to complete a catch to get rid of the same batter on the previous ball.
Speaking of the ejection, a Haider Ali lead on Scott Kuggeleijn’s bowling pitch went into the coverage zone where substitute outfielder Daryl Mitchell ran back for a couple of yards before taking out a one-handed blindness.
Rizwan and Mohammad Hafeez stitched an 82-run bracket for the second wicket to put Pakistan in the driver’s seat. Hafeez, who had scored 99 undefeated in the previous game, missed half a century by nine runs. He was also caught by Daryl Mitchell deep in the 14th.

With Rizwan in the middle, Pakistan was still on top, but they lost ground in rapid succession towards the end, bringing New Zealand back into the game.
