New Delhi: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will interact with teachers across the country on Tuesday at 4pm and is expected to make the important announcement regarding the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam schedule. for classes 10 and 12 proposed for will be carried out next year through the paper-pencil modality. As part of the central government’s initiative to conduct timely exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister has planned a trialogue with students, parents and teachers from across the country. The Minister will also interact with stakeholders through webinars over three days. CBSE officials have clarified that there is no proposal to take the board exams online. Earlier in the day, the minister took to Twitter and wrote: “’आचार्य देवो भव:’ My dear #Teachers, I will go live on December 22 at 4pm to tell you about the upcoming # board exams. Tune in and share your concerns with me. #EducationMinisterGoesLive ”. Many teachers have shared their inquiries, including those about the upcoming CBSE and state board syllabus, test patterns, and test dates. While several teachers have also asked to cancel the 2021 board exams, a few others have urged that exams be taken online.

On December 10, the education minister interacted with students and answered questions about various concerns regarding the conduct of the upcoming board exams. A final decision on the dates of the board’s examinations has not yet been made. The minister further said during the interaction that stakeholder consultations are underway to decide the dates of the board exams for classes 10 and 12 and will be announced soon based on stakeholder feedback.
