Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina was one of many who were arrested at Mumbai Dragonfly club near Mumbai airport for disobeying Covid-19 regulations.
Mumbai police raided the club and arrested 34 people, including seven hotel employees, for violating the prohibitive Covid-19 pandemic regulations imposed by the Maharashtra government. The club violated the rule set by the time limit until such places in the state can remain open.
Along with Raina, singer Guru Randhawa and Bollywood celebrity Suzanne Khan, who is also the ex-wife of actor Hrtihik Roshan, were also arrested. All were later released on bail.
The raid took place around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
TOI has confirmation that the names of the three celebrities: Suresh Raina, Guru Randhawa and Suzanne Khan are in the FIR.
The club had violated the Bombay Police Act and the Epidemic Disease Act.
In an official statement, Mumbai police said: “… a crime u / s 188, 269, 34 IPC and u / s 51 NDMA has been recorded against 34 people at the Sahar police station after a crime was carried out raid at 2.50 am, for keeping the establishment open beyond the permissible time limit, not following Covid regulations such as social distancing, not wearing a mask. ”
Raina, who announced her retirement from international cricket in August this year, will be seen at the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy that will officially kick off the delayed domestic cricket season in India.
