India’s largest pacemaker, Mohammad Shami, has been ruled out of the entire series of tests after scan reports confirmed a fracture. The pacemaker was hit by a delivery from Pat Cummins during the Adelaide test on Saturday.

India has suffered another blow as the team’s biggest pacemaker, Mohmmad Shami, has been ruled out of the remaining 3 tests after sustaining a fracture at the Adelaide test on Saturday. Scan reports have confirmed the same. This comes after Australia suffered an 8 wicket loss by Australia in the series opener.
A Pat Cummins goalie had hit Mohammed Shami on his bowling arm and the bowler retired injured to end India’s inning at 36. Shami had called the medical team for a checkup after suffering the blow.
India’s captain Virat Kohli was asked about Shami’s injury and said the pacemaker was in a lot of pain and that he had been taken to a hospital for a scan.
“There is no news about Shami, now a scan is going to be done. He was in a lot of pain, he could not even lift his arm. We will probably know at night what happens,” revealed Virat Kohli after the visitors succumbed to a loss of eight land.
The team’s medical staff were quick to assist him during the match and after some deliberation, Shami decided to walk back to the locker room finishing the visitors’ innings in 21.2 overs.
After the physical therapist applied what looked like a pain reliever spray, Shami tried to resume hitting, but he didn’t seem comfortable and decided not to continue.
With the injury, India will now rely heavily on Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling prowess. The role of Umesh Yadav will be critical, while Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini will also have to step up.
Ishant Sharma was previously ruled out of the series due to an injury he incurred during the 2020 IPL. With Virat Kohli also returning to attend the birth of his first child, Team India will be under serious pressure in the upcoming matches of the Serie. .
