Assam student ‘raped’, killed in Bangalore | Guwahati News


GUWAHATI: 19-year-old nurse student since Assam was allegedly raped and murdered in Bengaluru on Wednesday, policeman said.
The first defendant, Anisur Rehaman (21), who took the victim to a hospital in Yelahanka on Wednesday, has been arrested. The accused was known to the little girl and they took her dead to hospital, police said. “The girl had enrolled in a Bengaluru-based university and had arrived in the city on Monday and admission was made through Anisur, a student at the same university and a native of Assam,” the police quoted the FIR as saying.
The Bengaluru police registered a case under sections 376 (rape) and 302 (murder) of the IPC on Wednesday based on the FIR submitted by the owner and is being investigated. “We will know more after the autopsy is done. One of the defendants, Anisur Rahman, has been arrested and the preliminary investigation suggests a case of violation and murder”Said a police officer from the Byadarahalli police station.

The police officer said: “We have discovered that they are both from Assam and possibly friends and the father of the victim knew the accused. The woman had just arrived in Bangalore this week to start her nursing course and we are investigating what she did from the moment she arrived here. ”The official added that there could be others involved in the incident.
