On Friday, a young actress in Kerala took to her social media page to reveal that on Thursday two men groped her inside a popular shopping mall, adding that “being a woman has been very exhausting.”

“Two men passed me in a generously spaced aisle in the hypermarket that barely had people crowded together and one of them not so accidentally brushed his hand on my back as he passed me. Because it caught me off guard, I couldn’t react immediately. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but you know that when something is not right, you feel it, ”he wrote, adding that his sister had also seen the incident and immediately came over to ask if he was okay.

She added: “Clearly I wasn’t. The fact that it seemed deliberate even to her made it clear that I wasn’t imagining it. I was blank for a minute trying to process this. I walked towards them, but they completely ignored me. I made sure he knew I understood. And they both left the hall immediately. “

The actress, who was accompanied by her sister, brother and mother, went on to say that the two men later approached them to try to talk to them.

“I wanted to know the names of the movies I’ve been a part of. We turned our backs and asked the guy to take care of his own business and leave. When my mom walked up to us, they left, ”she wrote.

The actress said on her social media page that she was ‘angry’ knowing that the two men who touched her inappropriately ‘could do it again’ with someone else.

“Being a woman has been very exhausting, being on guard every minute when you leave your house. To look at my clothes when I bend over and turn. To protect my chest with my arms in the crowd. The list goes on, ”he wrote.

“It’s all for these sick men. You take away our security, you take away the comfort and joy of our femininity. I hate you.”

The actress said she hoped the women reading her post would have the courage not to have to slap those men hard in the face.

An officer from the Kalamassery Police Station confirmed that the incident was captured with CCTV cameras inside the mall, and police would soon record an FIR on the case after identifying the two men.

The actress’s statement has not yet been taken as she is filming in Kozhikode.
