LUCK: Following his party’s good performance in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly polls, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi seeks to gain a foothold in the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh, where he met with the head of the SBSP Om Prakash Rajbhar, an ex Bjp ally, here on wednesday.
“We are very confident of our success in Bihar, and we will continue that momentum,” Owaisi told reporters after their meeting in Lucknow.
Rajbhar said: “Until yesterday, people used to say that OP Rajbhar is alone, and what can he do? Now why are they feeling the pain? Now Owaisiji has come, we will show our power to the heavyweight,” he said. said.
Referring to the Bhaagidaari Sankalp Morcha, a smaller party front in the state formed about a year ago, Rajbhar said that “we will participate together in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.”
In addition to the SBSP, the Bhaagidaari Sankalp Morcha, the Jan Adhikar Party of former BSP leader Babu Singh Kushwaha, the Rashtra Uday Party led by Babu Ram Pal, the Janta Kranti Party led by Anil Singh Chauhan and the Rashtriya Upekshit Samaj Party led by Premchand Prajapati.
The Owaisi-Rajbhar meeting comes a day later the Aam Aadmi party announced that he will contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2022.
In the recently concluded Bihar elections, AIMIM won five seats (contested 20) in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region on the border of west bengal.
“Rajbhar ji also plays a role in our success in Bihar. We are part of the Great Democratic Secular Alliance. We are very confident of success in Bihar, and we will continue that momentum,” Owaisi said.
When asked whether it is necessary for smaller parties to unite to take on the BJP, Rajbhar said: “We have formed the Bhaagidaari Sankalp Morcha to ensure our victory. We are fighting for education, health and employment.”
When asked about the constant attack by rivals on the Owaisi-led party calling it a vote divider, Rajbhar said: “We want Owaisiji to divide the votes of his community, Rajbhar to divide his and Krishna Patel (of Apna Dal) his community. May all these votes accumulate and ensure our victory. ”
Meanwhile, Owaisi also attacked Trinamool Congress supreme and Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee about his comments Tuesday that the BJP was allegedly trying to import AIMIM into that state to sharpen communal polarization and split Hindu-Muslim votes among themselves.
He said that Banerjee was part of the BJP-led NDA when the Gujarat riots occurred in 2002.
“So far Mamata Banerjee has only met the obedient Mir Jaffers (who betrayed Nawab Siraj-ud-Daullah) and Mir Sadiqs (who allegedly betrayed Tipu Sultan during the siege of Seringapatam, paving the way for a British victory). He has yet to come face to face with a good Muslim, and it will happen, “Owaisi said.
