Indian Railways prepares to organize mega recruiting drive to fill 1.4 lakh vacancies

The Indian Railways, through its 21 Railways Recruitment Boards (RRB), are organizing a mega three-phase recruitment drive starting Tuesday to fill around 1.4 lakh of vacancies.

The Ministry of Railways, in a statement dated December 11, 2020, declared that more than 2.44 million candidates will appear in different cities of the country to participate in the hiring campaign.

According to the official statement, the first phase of the exam will begin from December 15 to December 18, 2020, for isolated and ministerial categories. This will be followed by Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) from December 28 to tentatively through March 2021 and the third recruitment for Level-1 from tentatively from April 2020 onwards through the end of June 2021.

The RRBs have made exhaustive preparations to carry out examinations of this large scale in times of the Covid-19 pandemic following the standard operating procedure (SOP) established by the government, which guarantees social distancing, the mandatory use of masks, disinfectants, reducing exam shifts to only two shifts per day.

“The RRBs are making efforts to ensure that, to the extent possible, candidates are accommodated in their own State so that they can get to their exam centers by making the overnight trip. Women and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are housed in their home states. However, considering the skewed distribution of candidates by area, there will be unavoidable interstate movements. Railroads will run special exam trains to satisfy candidates’ travel requirements, whenever necessary and feasible. The chief secretaries of the concerned state governments have also been asked to extend local administration support to RRBs to conduct CBT safely and ensuring social distancing, ”said Indian Railways.

According to the Indian Railways, the entry temperature to the candidates will be controlled by heat guns.

“Candidates who have a temperature higher than the prescribed limits will not be allowed to enter the exam site. Information in this regard will also be sent to your registered email and mobile phone number regarding the rescheduling of such candidates. The exact date of the rescheduled exam for such candidates will be announced later. The candidate must wear their own mask. The candidate must submit the Covid-19 self-declaration in the prescribed format at the entrance and, in the absence of the same, he / she will not be allowed to enter the examination site. After each shift, the exam center will be disinfected before starting another shift, ”he said.

In order to safeguard the health of candidates and other personnel involved in conducting exams amid Covid-19, the latest instructions, guidelines, and orders issued by the central government and the respective state governments regarding the Covid 19. Railways declared.
