Chitra’s husband, Hemanth, arrested | Entertainment News, The Indian Express

Days after the death of popular Tamil actor and host Chitra in Chennai, her husband Hemanth was arrested for allegedly instigating her suicide.

A police officer told The New Indian Express: “Based on the outcome of the investigation carried out over the past few days, we have slapped IPC Section 306 against Hemanth.”

Chitra and Hemanth had registered their marriage two months ago and they were supposed to have a traditional wedding in January.

Chitra’s relatives had previously alleged foul play and demanded an investigation in the case. The actor-presenter was found dead on December 9 in a hotel room at the Nazrathpet in Chennai.
