India’s 2020-21 national season will kick off with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, taking place from January 10-31, stated Jay Shah, BCCI secretary, in an email to all state units of the Cricket Control Board. in India on Sunday (December 31).

“Having reviewed your responses, based on comments received, I am pleased to inform you that BCCI plans to begin the 2020-21 national season with the T20 tournament schedule for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy,” Shah wrote in an email accessed by Cricbuzz .

“The BCCI will seek further feedback from members on the organization of any other tournament / tournaments and the decision will be made after the group stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy,” he added. “More details regarding the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be finalized soon.”

Meanwhile, the last date for the interstate transfer of cricketers for the season has been extended to December 20, 2020.
