The skeleton of a 25-year-old man, who was reported missing, was recovered from the terrace of his residence in Salt Lake, a satellite city of Kolkata, on Thursday. Police arrested the man’s mother and brother.
Bidhannagar Detective Police said they received a complaint from a man Anil Kumar Mahensariya, a businessman by profession, on Thursday. The man, in his complaint, told police that his eldest son, Arjun, was missing and that he suspected that his wife Geeta had abducted or may have killed his son.
“When the police went to search the house, they found a skeleton on the terrace. The skeleton is believed to be that of Arjun. Geeta has been arrested, ”said a senior Bidhannagar police official.
Some black spots were found on the ground floor floor that police say could be caused by something burning. Ashes were also found on the staircase leading to the terrace.
The couple have been married for at least 32 years and had three children: Arjun, 25, Vidur, 22, and Vaidehi, 20. But due to marital discord, Anil left his Salt Lake residence in August 2019 and began living separately. in an apartment in Rajarhat, about 10 km away, police said.

On October 29 this year, Anil learned that Geeta, along with her three children, went to visit their mother at Ranchi in Jharkhand. However, a month later, on November 30, Anil learned that his eldest son, Arjun, was not with his mother in Ranchi. Later that day, however, Geeta called Anil and told him that the three children were with her.
With his eldest son missing for the past few days, Anil filed a complaint with the Bidhannagar East Police Station on Thursday. Police started a case and raided the Salt Lake home where the skeleton was recovered.
